Functional questions

Hello,

Your tool seems to be very interesting!

Does it work with WSS 3.0 ?

Is it possible to use it to creat field into existing lists?

Is it possible to use it to deploy
• Web part ?
• Web page ?
• List ?
• Sites ?
• Workflows ?
• Reports ?

We are looking for a tools which help us to make site upgrade without any action of our users.
For exemple adding a new functionality higly connected with existing list. If we want to deploy on our existing sites the blog functionalty connected to the announcements which are already deployed : it will require new lists, fields creation on existing lists, web part deployement, new web pages and maybe workflows.

Thank you for you answers, they will help us a lot.

This code works with MOSS 2007 and WSS 3.0. As part of solution deployment package you can deploy almost anything, including web parts, and workflows. This tool does not add functionality in this area, since this is part of the SharePoint platform.

In the documentation the prerequisites lists "The MOSS sites that you want to deploy the solution to must be a publishing Web". Does this mean that this utility will only work on:

a) MOSS publishing site templates with or without workflow and/or
b) Any site template, including WSS, where the publishing infrastructure has been enabled as part of a MOSS farm

Or is that an inaccurate statement?

That's correct. This is a limitation of the tool.
